Date Finalized for Rahul Gandhi’s Coronation

Congress Party has initiated the process of coronating Rahul Gandhi as the next President of the party. The party’s Working Committee had approved the schedule for the election of Congress President this morning in Delhi. The nominations will begin on December 1st.

December 4th is the last date for filing nominations. The scrutiny of Nominations will take place on the next day and the list of valid nominations will be published that evening. 11th will be the last date for candidature withdrawal and the final list of contesting candidates will be published that evening.

Rahul Gandhi will be filing his nomination and it will be most likely the sole nomination. In such case, he will be announced unopposed on the same day. If something drastic happens and multiple nominations due exist, polling will happen on 16th and the counting and results on 19th.
