Political parties need to submit their scripts of any advertisement with regards to the elections to the Election Committee for the approval before they go ahead with the campaign using the ad. In the same process, BJP got a correction from EC banning the word Pappu used in the advertisement.

Usually, BJP refers Rahul Gandhi, the Vice President of Congress as Pappu, which refers to the term fool in Hindi. EC found it derogatory and passed instructions to the party to remove the word Pappu from the advertisement and banned the word totally. The advertisement goes at a shop where a man comes and says Pappu came and the keeper says he can buy anything from his shop but not the votes.
But the ban couldn’t stop BJP from throwing satire on Rahul. As the sources say, they have replaced the word Pappu as Yuvaraj, another term used to taunt Rahul on the social media. Now, EC cant comment on the word so the ad might get the clearance.
