Dear CM Sir, Kindly Allow ACB to Function Independently

Telangana ACB recently raided and arrested Chief Engineer in Irrigation Department, Suresh Kumar and seized a lot of illegal assets. A case was filed and he is arrested. Minister Harish Rao and other officials of the department took it to the notice of the Chief Minister the other day.

They said he has 30 years of service and no remarks till now. The Chief Minister immediately called ACB Director General and ordered for the release of the Chief Engineer on Bail and asked to revisit the case. He also asked to change the approach of ACB and said a scientific approach is needed.

This act of the Chief Minister is drawing so much of criticism in the social media. Despite the opinion on the Chief Engineer by the Minister or the others, once a case is filed, its for the courts to decide the merits and demerits of the case as put up by the ACB.

The Chief Minister cannot intervene in the process and hit the morale of the department. KCR also said he will arrange a meeting very soon to review the work process of ACB. The Chief Minister who talks about being a model state should not be doing that for sure.
