Dear Pawan, Learn That From Nara Lokesh

Whenever a high-profile celebrity contests from a constituency, there is a lot of glamour and discussion. But the prime issue with any such instance is that celebrity’s accessibility to the locals. If they happen to lose, they are totally disconnected.

However, Nara Lokesh is proving to be different. He is staying in constant touch with his Mangalagiri constituency and also made some trips before the Lockdown. He even makes it a point to attend the marriages of his constituency when invited. The other day, Lokesh extended insurance cover to all the scribes working in his constituency.

The young MLC is able to send a message that he is with the constituency irrespective of the electoral result. In complete contrast, Pawan Kalyan has become totally inaccessible to the two constituencies he contested and lost in recent elections. There is no mention of anything about the problems of Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka and there are no tours as well.

Pawan Kalyan does not even have personal offices in these constituencies. Probably, he is likely to choose a new constituency for the next election. However, that could send a bad signal to the electorate about his commitment to the people and they would think twice before exercising their voting right.

Also, changing constituencies for every election would send a very bad signal to the people. Pawan Kalyan should probably take a cue from Lokesh’s strategy.
