Delay Becomes Imminent For Swiss Challenge

Hyderabad High Court had issued a Stay on the Swiss Challenge Method adopted by the State government for the development of 6.84 square km start-up area in Amaravati capital city on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode and posted the next hearing of the case to October 31st asking the state government to file a counter.

That puts the entire process on hold. The government went for an appeal to get the stay vacated but then the high court went on imposing adjournments. Finally, the case is now posted to October 13th as the high court is closed for Dussehra Holidays. So, the delay is becoming imminent for this prestigious project.

Two Companies – Aditya Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation and NVN Engineers Pvt Ltd have filed two separate petitions to get this verdict from the high court. Firstly, both of them do not have the experience to handle a project of such magnitude. Coming to the other things, NVN Engineers Pvt Ltd was formed in May this year with an investment of just 10 Lakhs. The company seems to be floated just for the purposing of filing this case.

Aditya Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation, the other company has Thota Chandrasekhar Rao and his family as the directors. Thota Chandrasekhar unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha seat from Guntur in 2009 on PRP ticket. He joined YSR Congress before the last elections and contested for Eluru Parliament. So, the government alleges Jagan‘s hand in getting the stay over this project.
