Did Sajjala Lie On CPS Promise?

Abolishing the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) is one of the prime election promises of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Jagan boasted about abolishing it in just one week of coming to power but it did not happen to date.

A few months ago, Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy speaking to the media told, “The promise was made without proper research. Since we were in Opposition back then, we did not have the proper information. If we have to implement the Old Pension scheme, even the state budget will not be enough”.

But all of this does not sound to be true. Jharkhand Government has abolished the CPS and opted for Old Pension Scheme.

Prior to this, the Rajasthan government also abolished the CPS.

It is interesting to note that Jharkhand Government did abolish the CPS scheme without any demands from the employees there.

Employees associations are alleging that this has proved that Sajjala clearly lied about CPS abolishing will lead to the economic crisis.
