Does Sakshi and YSR Congress Make Any Sense?

AP DGP has confirmed that YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should seek Permission from the Department before starting his Padayatra since Section 30 is in effect in the state and it bars Padayatra, Public Meetings etc without permission.

Sakshi has aired a Program which says an RTI query to the AP DGP Office has revealed that no leader in the past – YSR, Chandrababu or Sharmila took permission for their Padayatra and so there is no need of such permission now.

This seems to be a blatant argument. Police Department has imposed Section 30 for months together and it has to be followed according to the rules. There may not be any Sections back when YSR, Chandrababu or Sharmila did their Padayatra.

Also, the RTI Query said Permission is not sought from DGP office and that does not mean permission from district headquarters and local police stations is not needed. And there is absolutely no reason why YSR Congress should not seek Permission for the Padayatra. This seems to be an argument for the sake of argument. Mudragada made the similar argument and at the end, things ended up in favor of the Police department since there are rules that have to be followed.
