Does Jagan Have BJP’s Approval on Amaravati?

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has given a report in favor of Jagan’s Three Capitals Idea. This is the second report in favor of the idea and with the Government already decided to change the capital, it is unlikely for any committee to give a report against it. Farmers who are agitating for 18 days may have to prepare for the worse.

Unless the Courts or the Center interferes, Amaravati is a gone case. BJP is playing a double game in the issue. While leaders like Kanna Lakshminarayana and Sujana Chowdary are opposing the Capital Shift, GVL Narasimha Rao and Kishan Reddy stated that the Central Government has no role in deciding the capital.

There are doubts in the Political Experts if this is a game of the BJP. “It is very unlikely that Jagan went forward with such a big plan without the blessings of Modi and Shah. He may have convinced that shifting Amaravati will destroy TDP’s Political Capital. What Kanna and Sujana are doing is to maybe stay in the good books of the locals,” a Political Expert opines.

Sources say that before tabling the Report of the High Power Committee in the Assembly, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will fly to Delhi and submit the report to Modi and Amit Shah. If BJP is hand in glove with Jagan on this issue, the farmers have a remote chance in the form of the Courts.
