EC Finally Takes Action Against Officials for Election Irregularities

After the High Court rapping, the State Election Commission has woke up to the irregularities happened in the local elections of Andhra Pradesh. The State Election Commissioner, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar finally revealed that things have come under their scanner and action is being taken.

“We have seen several instances of Violence during MPTC and ZPTC Nominations. We have seen visuals of some candidates blackmailing and obstructing candidates. Some officials need to be made accountable for this as we felt official machinery is partial towards the Ruling Party,” he said.

“We are transferring the Collectors of Guntur and Chittoor Collectors with immediate effect. The SPs of the respective districts were also transferred. Giving Station Bail to the accused in the Macherla incident is wrong. We have transferred the CI there. CIs of Tirupati, Palamaneru, Tadipatri, and Rayadurgam were also transferred,” he added.

With these actions, it is almost like the Election Commission admitted to the massive irregularities in those areas. However, it is appealing that the Commission has just paused the election process without starting it afresh.
