Eenadu Expose: 706 Votes in 1 Family

Usually, a functional household has 3-5 votes in the family. But in a voters list in the Adoni constituency of Andhra Pradesh, there are a staggering 706 votes in a single family.

Amidst growing concern about the fake votes in Andhra Pradesh, the latest report from Eenadu states that the voters list in Adoni, Kurnool district has 706 votes from a single family. This is now alleged to be an elaborate fake votes scam.

Another addition in this Eenadu report is that in the 17th ward of Adoni, there is a house with the number 17 and it has as many as 644 votes.

In the polling station number 223, there is a house with the number 17/386 and it has 706 registered votes. The report adds that the house had correct number of votes in 2019 and things have gone awry now, before the next election.

As per this report, the names of the people who died several years ago are also on the voters list which could be another factor for this disproportionate number of votes.

TDP and other opposition parties have already complained to the Central Election Commission about these fake votes and are awaiting affirmative action against the same.
