Mummy Returns for Hyderabad

The State Archaeology Museum in Hyderabad has got its Mummy Returns moment as the Indian scientists and archaeologists have finally restored the mummified remains of princess Naishu. The Mummy which was in the museum started deteriorating as the the exterior wrappings of the mummy were peeling off.

The experts team restored it completely and they are confident that it will avoid further degradation. They have repaired the damaged portions using conservation materials and are also in the process of procuring a special temperature-controlled case to prevent any more damage to the Mummy.

The Mummy scientifically, the carcass belonged to a woman, about 25 years of age, with a height of 136 cm. The brain and other organs had been removed during mummification. The scans on the carcass also revealed that the ribs were damaged and there was dislocation along the spine and one ankle.
