EC Cancel Recognition Of KA Paul’s Party

The Central Election Commission recently decided to cancel the recognition and symbols of 537 inactive political parties across the country. The list also includes twenty parties registered from Telangana.

KA Paul‘s Praja Shanthi party is also one of these parties.

Political parties that did not contest the 2014-19 elections are also identified as inactive parties. Even after applying for a common symbol, some parties did not contest the elections.

Some are registering political parties to get an exemption from income tax. But they did not contest the elections.

A postal address is mandatory for anybody registered as a political body. Any changes in it must be reported to the EC. However, the EC found that many political parties are not following these policies.

KA Paul, every now and then appears before the media and makes tall claims of coming to power in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. But the fact is that nothing is happening in the party.

In days to come, we will see him make tall claims of Jagan, KCR, and Modi prompting the canceling of the party.
