By-Election Fever for YSR Congress

The memories of bitter defeat in Nandhyala By-Election is still fresh for YSR Congress and now there is a by-election for Kurnool MLA in Local Bodies Quota. The by-election is necessitated after the resignation of Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy during Nandhyala by-election.

The party is very much depleted in Kurnool post the defeat and it is almost impossible to win this election. With Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy leaving TDP and joining YSR Congress, both the contestants of the last elections, Shilpa and Gouru Venkat Reddy are in YSRCP.

But then, both of them are not interested in the contest as they are sure of defeat. They say they are not financially strong to contest the election. The party is however keen on a contest and may put up a candidate financing him.

The candidate will be decided on Wednesday. The district leaders were asked to come to the place where Jagan’s Padayatra is going on. On the other side, in a complete contrast, there is an intense competition for TDP Ticket in the election.
