ETv hoardings in spot light!

ETv Urdu channel hoardings congratulating first woman CM of Jammu & Kashmir state, Mehbooba Mufti, draws ire from netizens. The hoardings were set in Jammu city and the hoardings read as “Abbu ki Ladli, Kashmir ki Beti” (Father’s darling, Kashmir’s daughter).”

Consequently, the award winning journalist from the media house has been resigned citing moral grounds. Rifat Abdullah, Special Correspondent with ETv Urdu channel posted in his Facebook page that he has been resigned as questions have been raised by people about credibility of channel. “I have never compromised with my principles and never supported any party or individual” says Rifat in his postings. The page was deleted before that it went viral with more than 1000 shares.

He again posted in his Facebook account stating that his resignation has been accepted by management. ETv Urdu management defending this hoarding as part of their routine branding exercise and it has nothing to do with editorial policy of the channel.
