EVM Case: Pinnelli’s Old Tweet Becomes Viral

YSR Congress Party’s Macherla MLA Pinneli Rama Krishna Reddy has been in the news since yesterday after a video surfaced showing him damaging EVM and VVPAT machines at a polling booth in his constituency.

This is a clear violation of the rules and an offence against democracy. No contestants in a democratic system are allowed to tamper with or damage electoral machines.

After the video went online, the Election Commission took the issue seriously and ordered immediate action against Pinneli. The police have registered a criminal case against him, and a search is underway.

Meanwhile, an old tweet from Pinneli about voting has gone viral on social media. In his tweet, Pinneli stated that the vote is a weapon given by B.R. Ambedkar in the world’s largest democracy. “Our vote decides the future of the nation. I urge everyone who is 18 or older to register to vote,” the tweet further read.

As of now, Pinneli has absconded from his constituency, and the AP police have deployed a special team in Hyderabad to hunt for him.

Earlier this morning, the police received information that Pinneli was travelling towards Sangareddy. Immediately, the local cops caught his vehicle.
