FACT CHECK: Amaravati Cost Rs 10,042 per sqft?

Minister of municipal administration and urban development Narayana has clarified that the figures quoted by some regarding the price of land in Amaravati was false.

It was reported in some sections of media that the land taken for the construction of judges’ and ministers’ houses was Rs 10,042 per sqft in capital city Amaravati.

He said in reality, the cost was Rs 4,382 per sqft. He further stated that a committee of engineers and experts suggested that the amount be spent. The expenditure will be made based on these suggestions, said the minister.

Finally, he said action will be taken against those spreading wrong figures.

It is known that the judges’ and ministers’ residences will be the first structures to be completed in Amaravati.
