FACT CHECK: Is Amaravati ORR 4.5X Than Hyd ORR?

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is maintaining strategic silence over his party’s stand on the Capital.

It is known to our readers that YSR Congress pushed for three capitals during its regime, but people rejected the idea, and Amaravati is back on track.

Jagan Mohan Reddy did not attend the Amaravati Restart Program, and the party is yet to spell out its stand on the capital. But then, they started spewing venom on Amaravati like always.

The other day, there was news in Eenadu that the Central Government has agreed to increase the width of Amaravati ORR from 70 meters to 140 meters after CM Chandrababu Naidu insisted.

Chandrababu insisted on the increase, keeping in mind the future, and also agreed to pay 1000 crores for the increased land acquisition.

A YSR Congress leader and the party’s social media wing started peddling lies on this.

They say Hyderabad ORR is just 30 Meters long and Amaravati ORR will be 4.5 times more at 140 meters.

“Hyderabad Ring Road is eight-lane at 29.8 meters. 140 meters width means Amaravati ORR will be 34 lanes. ఎక్కడ అమరావతి? ఏముంది అక్కడ? ఏముందని 34 లేన్లు. ఏం చేద్దామని? ఇదంతా సాధ్యమా?,” the leader attached a video to the News Report.

The video is made viral by the YSR Congress Social Media Teams.

But then, the facts are different.
The Hyderabad ORR is 150 meters long and not 29.8 meters as these people peddle.

150 meters includes the main carriageway, service roads, and median. The main carriageway is 29.8 meters.

Similarly, Amaravati ORR is 140 meters long, including the main carriageway, service roads, and median.

Amaravati ORR is envisioned at 140 meter,s keeping the future needs in mind.

In Hyderabad, the Government has so much land, and the needs have slowly increased. So, the Governments never thought of the scenario of having an ORR. So, the ORR was planned much later.

In Amaravati, it is all different. The need will come much earlier.

Also, the Government-owned lands are very less there. If we have to expand the ORR and do the land acquisition in the future, it will be very difficult. So, keeping future needs in mind is commendable.

It is least expected for YSR Congress to appreciate the foresight, but on expected lines, they started peddling lies about Amaravati. The Government has to be wary about it.
