Andhra Pradesh held its elections for the 175-member state assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats on May 13 in a single phase.
The results showed the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) emerging as the clear winner, securing a significant victory with 135 out of 175 seats.
Meanwhile, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has been wiped out as it held onto only 11 seats. The Jana Sena Party made its presence felt with 21 seats, and the BJP managed to secure eight seats.
There’s been misinformation circulating about the vote share percentages between the YSRCP and the TDP. Some journalists also have been misled into believing that YSRCP scored 2% more vote share percentage than TDP.
The actual figures reveal that the YSRCP garnered 39.37% of the votes, while the TDP received 45.6%.
