Fearing Court, Jagan Government Decides To Take Backstep

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government finally relented in the issue of Party Colours to the Government Buildings in the state. Last week, the High Court struck another G.O. of the government which intends to continue YSR Congress Colours to Government Buildings. After High Court ordered to change the colors, the Government added one more color and gave definition to the four colors to avoid legal scrutiny.

The High Court refused to accept Government arguments or definitions and said it did not follow the directives of the High Court and Supreme Court. The court slashed the G.O. and demanded an explanation from the Chief Secretary, CEC, Panchayati Raj Secretary.

The court clarified that it will take the issue as the Contempt of Court. With no other way to go, the Government had decided to relent. All the Government Buildings in the state will be white-washed going further. The Chief Secretary, CEC, Panchayati Raj Secretary will appear before the High Court tomorrow and will inform about the Government’s decision to the court.

The Government spent close to 1,500 Crore for these paintings and now, more funds are needed to white-wash the buildings. This means huge public funds have gone the drain.
