First Victory of The Opposition in AP Assembly

Interesting scenes have followed in Andhra Pradesh Assembly This Morning. The other day, CM Jagan claimed that his government is the First to introduce Zero Interest Loans to farmers for which TDP MLA Rama Naidu objected. The MLA said it is a scheme that existed since Kiran Kumar Reddy and was followed by their government between 2014 and 2019.

Jagan immediately stood up and challenged to prove it or demanded that Chandrababu Naidu should resign. The Leader of Opposition today read out official documents about how the scheme was implemented during his regime. He also showed official data of how they cleared some arrears of 2011 as well under the scheme.

The Chief Minister is taken back by then and backed off from the challenge saying that there is nothing great by giving just 5% of what they are supposed to do. The fact is that the challenge is about if the scheme existed in Chandrababu Naidu’s regime but Jagan changed it to whether the scheme is fully implemented or not.

This is the first victory of the Opposition Party over the new Government in the Assembly. Jagan should also be disappointed about how he was misinformed by the officials about this scheme which led to this embarrassment in the house.
