Forced Andhra History to be removed from TS Books!

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has ordered for the complete makeover of the history books in the state. Textbooks for undergraduate students of BA History will be the first ones to get the makeover early next year. It is said that the current AP history which was ‘forced’ on Telangana students will be removed.

If necessary some part may be retained but moved in to ‘National History’ from ‘State History’ section. It is also said that there will be a separate chapter on the 1969 agitation for Telangana statehood, while the 2009 movement will be part of the ‘contemporary history’ pages.

KCR has entrusted the job of removing the Forced Andhra history to Prof. Mallesh Sankasala, vice-chairman, Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE).A committee comprising faculty members from history departments of all State universities along with TSCHE officials is formed to choose the topics of revision.
