Telangana BJP President K Lakshman has completed his two years tenure and the High Command is in no mood of continuing him as his leadership is totally uninspiring. The High command is in search of a proper replacement for a while now and it looks like they are looking at CH Vidyasagar Rao.

CH Vidyasagar Rao, a Senior Leader in BJP was sent to Maharashtra as the Governor in 2014. His tenure came to an end last month. He will be visiting BJP Office in Hyderabad and will take the formal membership in the party. Buzz is that he will be the next President of BJP in Telangana.

Active during the Emergency, Vidyasagar Rao was sent to jail during the period. He was elected as an MP from Karimnagar constituency in 1998 for the first time. In 1999, he was elected as president of the state BJP unit, and also re-elected to the Lok Sabha.

He served as Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and later as Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry in the Vajpayee government from 1999 to 2004. BJP believes that he is a perfect fit for the role of the Party President in Telangana.
