Former Maoist to Contest on TRS Ticket?

Rumours are that Former Maoist Senior Leader Jampanna who recently surrendered to Police is planning to foray into Politics. Jampanna is keen on getting ticket from the ruling TRS Party. In fact, Jampanna surrendered to Mahabubabad Police through a TRS Leader in Warangal.

He is interested in contesting from his native Mahabubabad or any assembly segment in Warangal. The 55-year-old Communist Party of India (Maoist)’s Central Committee member – the apex body that decides direction of Maoist movement – had surrendered before Telangana police along with his life partner Hinje Anitha. The couple will take away the reward that is on their heads.

The Communist Party of India (Maoist) has issued a statement condemning the surrender. The party termed it as an ‘outright betrayal of Indian proletariat’ in a press release. Jampanna reportedly informed his decision of surrender to the party in November. He said that the party is moving away from its ideology in the recent years.
