Here’s some good news for international flyers from Gannavaram, Vijayawada. The much talked about integrated terminal will be complete in the coming five months.
The integrated terminal will help quick exit and entry of domestic and international flyers as it will increase the capacity of the airport with modern, upgraded facilities.
The integrated terminal was supposed to have been completed by 2022. However, due to the earlier company that handled the airport, NKG Infrastructure, delaying the process, the Chandrababu government terminated their agreement.
Now, new tenders have been called and the tender has been given to KMV Projects Limited. This was decided at the Bharat Airports Authority office in New Delhi and the news will be officially announced in a couple of days.
The integrated terminal is 80% complete. The remaining 20% work will be completed at a cost of Rs 470 crore. The new terminal will facilitate plying of direct international flights from Gannavaram, Vijayawada.
With Telugus of Andhra Pradesh living at various international cities, having direct flights will help them and their families to fly in directly to Gannavaram.
