Bringing the 4th Generation WiFi broadband services to Hyderabad is one of the prominent promises of the new government in Telangana state and slowly all the technical hurdles before the technology advent are clearing up. The Greater Hyderabad Muncipal Corporation had cleared the required permissions to Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) to set up aerial cabling across 310 km in the city covering the West and Central zones. RJIL will also be allowed to use existing poles, belonging to the corporation for these cable. RJIL will have to pay a modest 1000 Rupees per pole to the corporation and this will bring the corporation income of 90 Lakhs per Annum for the total 9000 poles.
The 310-km area which are so far cleared will covers areas surrounding the venue of the conference, HICC and areas like Begumpet, Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills, where the delegates are expected to stay. The government hopes that introduction of 4G services will be a leap towards catapulting of economic growth and will help in improving e-governance, tele-education, health care and access to information. The file is currently pending with the Chief Minister and is expected to be cleared today.
