GHMC Elections – The Mini General Elections of Telangana

GHMC Elections which will happen later this month is crucial for all the parties in the state. As many as 71 Lakh Voters will be exercising their voting right in this elections, making it a Mini General Elections. The results here will decide the mood of the state also for the 2019 elections.

Every third voter in Telangana will turn up for the election. Interestingly, in the last two decades, the party which won in Andhra went on to lay hands on the corporation and now TRS wants to break this tradition.

GHMC is the fourth richest Municipal corporation in the country and have more cash reserves than that of civic bodies in Chennai and Kolkata. Since, Settlers who do not get along well with TRS are in majority, the opposition parties have pinned high hopes on this elections to stage a comeback.
