Google Approves Lokesh’s Pitch: To Invest In Vizag

Ever since the government was changed and the NDA came into power, Andhra Pradesh is getting back on track with growth and development. Many major companies from various sectors are coming forward to invest in the state, given the investment-friendly environment and policies created by the government.

According to the latest reports, tech giant Google will set up its Cloud Data Centre in Visakhapatnam. An MoU is expected to be signed by the government of Andhra Pradesh and the Google Team on December 11.

During his recent visit to the United States, IT Minister Nara Lokesh held a meeting with Google Cloud Chief Executive Thomas Kurian at Google Campus in San Francisco and invited the company to set up its cloud centre in Vizag. Within a month, Google has reportedly come up with a positive response.

CM Chandrababu Naidu has also announced that Vizag will flourish with the addition of the Google Cloud Data Centre, the NTPC Green Hydrogen Hub, and the Accor-Mittal Steel Plant in Anakapalle district, which collectively represent investments of over Rs. 4 lakh crore. He stated that the work for these projects will begin within six months and will transform Vizag within two years.
