Government Empties All Departments for Amma Vodi Funds

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy‘s Government is emptying all the accounts of various Departments to fund the ambitious Amma Vodi scheme. The Government has asked all the funds available in the accounts of all the departments. The Government had issued official orders on Saturday to transfer the funds.

Officials are worried about this move since it will make things difficult for day-to-day affairs. Moreover, they will now have to put up bills to the treasury and wait for the reimbursement. With Government orders, they have no other option but to transfer the funds. Most of these funds are from various Central Schemes.

The State Government is expected to pool in 6,109 Crore funds in this way. Amma Vodi Scheme gives 15000 Rupees to the mother of every school-going kid every year. The scheme is, however, restricted to one child for every mother. Jagan Mohan Reddy is expected to visit Chittoor on January 9, for launching the Amma Vodi scheme, according to sources.
