Govt makes the much needed amend over Amaravati

The Secretariat which is being constructed in Velagapudi village of Amaravati is being referred as ‘Interim Secretariat’ or ‘Temporary Secretariat’. However this terminology is sending wrong signals to people. Opposition is lamenting that government is wasting 100s of Crores on Temporary Constructions with out starting the Capital.

Municipal Minister Narayana had given a clarification about this. He confirmed that the secretariat is not Temporary and will also be used after two years. He also added that these buildings will be used even after the core capital construction. Making the constructions permanent will also mean that they are entitled to get Central assistance according to Reorganization Act.

The two construction companies are working in multiple shifts to deliver the buildings on time. Currently they are well ahead of the schedule and are confident that they will finish the work before 15th June to make sure the shift of employees to the capital is smooth and goes as per the plan.
