How KCR turned saviour for Lagadapati!

Lagadapati Rajagopal and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would not see eye to eye during the peak Telangana agitation period. After the state is formed, Lagadapati retired and KCR went on to become the Chief Minister. However both of them seem to have arrived at a compromise now for some reasons best known to them.

Lagadapati’s Lanco had entered in to agreement with Telangana power utilities to sell 325 Mw to the power deficit state from its two plants located in Andhra Pradesh. These plants recently got gas allocation from the center and are operating at the quarter of their full capacity.

This move will help Telangana’s power demand and as well as important for Lanco as power surplus AP was not in a position to absorb the power from Lanco plants. This deal offered by KCR government almost saved Lagadapati’s company from the verge of bankruptcy.
