How Sharmila Is Useful For Congress?

Congress is gearing up for a direct attack on Chief Minister YS Jagan, with his sister YS Sharmila wielding it as a political weapon. The emergence of ‘Jagananna’s left arrow’ as a direct political counter-attack on her own brother is causing a sensation in state politics.

The Congress, rejuvenated after its victory in Telangana, is primarily focused on wooing back YS fans who had drifted away from the party. It is believed that handing over the reins of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) to Sharmila will help achieve this objective.

Following the state’s division, many key leaders of the party and YS fans left Congress and joined Jagan’s newly formed YSRCP. From 2014 until now, they had followed Jagan with hopes for a political future, seeing no alternative.

However, disillusionment set in, and as the YCP faced strong opposition, there is a growing sentiment that the party’s situation may not be favorable in the upcoming elections. After assuming leadership in AP Congress, former leaders of Congress have found renewed hope.

They believe that YS’s close association with the Congress can provide a political alternative if his daughter enters the political arena. AICC leaders are confident that Sharmila, particularly under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi, has the capability to lead the party forward.

Despite initially expressing her intention to confine herself to Telangana, Sharmila is now prepared to play a key role on behalf of the party in Andhra Pradesh as well. Mangalagiri YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, who is closely aligned with Jagan, has declared his support for Sharmila.

Political circles speculate that the ‘Bye Bye Jagan’ slogan initiated by him could influence the political destiny of other leaders, possibly redirecting them towards Congress.

It appears that many leaders who did not secure YSRCP tickets are eager to return home. The Congress leadership anticipates that some of them will join the party by the time Sharmila assumes charge.
