Hyd cops to issue e-Challans!

Cyberabad Police have decided to issue e-challan of 1000 Rupees for vehicles with out insurance. Till now, evaders are being fined only when they are caught during sudden checks and are issued challans if no insurance. According to Cyberabad Police, 2 Lakh vehicles are plying with out insurance.

Cyberabad Police are in talks with Insurance Regulatory Development Authority (IRDA) to share its database with Cyberabad traffic police database, enabling the latter to possess data about motorists who are avoiding renewal of their insurance. These challans will only be sent to vehicles owners at their door step, registered in Cyberabad RTA offices.

For motorists registered in other areas and plying in Cyberabad, they will have to pay up with usual methods when caught in Road side checks. Hyderabad police are yet to take a decision on implementing the move in their limits. The police defend this decision as having insurances in accident cases will come handy for the victims.
