Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already proved how to use social media effectively for Political campaign in the last elections. The Prime Minister now wants to use the social media to evaluate the performance of various ministries of his government. It is said that he already has a system in place which sends weekly reports to the Prime Minister about what is emerging on the social media about him and his government. Currently the entire process is being taken up by the new media cell of the ministry of information and broadcasting.

It is interesting to note that a Hyderabad based IT solutions company is roped in for this purpose. The company reportedly monitors twitter handles and facebook accounts and sends the trends to the Prime Minister’s Office every day and also through weekly and monthly reports. These reports contain information about public’s mood about various schemes and working of ministers of the union government and will be sent to Hiren Joshi, who heads the IT unit. Hiren’s team will prepare final reports which will be forwarded to the Prime Minister.
