Very Soon In Hyd, Roads Named After Google, Meta

Soon, Hyderabad’s streets may carry names like Google Road, Meta Road, and TCS Road. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced this proposal during his visit to New Delhi for the annual USISPF Conclave.

Reddy said most Indian roads are named after political leaders, but it’s time to honour companies shaping today’s world. His idea of naming roads after global corporates like Google, TCS, and Meta has sparked huge debate online.

Almost every city has an MG Road or a Lal Bahadur Shastri Road. While remembering history is important, Reddy’s idea of celebrating modern institutions that define our daily lives has grabbed attention across India.

During the Conclave, Reddy also invited top global universities to set up campuses in Hyderabad. He said once institutions like Harvard, Stanford, or Oxford open centres in the city, students from the global south will gain easier access and lower study costs.

Many members from the USISPF Conclave are expected to attend the Telangana Rising Global Summit in Hyderabad on December 8 and 9, 2025.
