The latest from the corridors of Telangana government is that they are focused on streamlining the increasing traffic problem in Hyderabad city. To address the issue, it is in the process of providing last mile connectivity, especially in IT corridors.
They are planning to construct more skywalks and introduce mono rail. The plan is to connect mono rail with skywalks.
However, this will require permissions from commercial buildings’ owners and the government is trying to work around the road block. It wants to build skywalks with CSR funds and mono rail in PPP model.
According to senior officers, the project is likely to get a go ahead from CM Revanth Reddy.
With each day, the traffic problems are increasing in the IT corridors and areas surrounding them. Regular commuters and those working in IT parks are facing trouble going home or to work during peak hours. Some circuits have traffic jams for upto 1 and 2 hours.
Introduction of mono rail in the city will mean great relief to IT professionals.
