IAS Officer Sri Lakshmi Back In News

Sri Lakshmi has been a known figure among Telugu people for over a decade. She was allegedly involved in various questionable activities during the YSR era. During that period, she served as the Secretary of Industries and was accused of issuing licenses for Obulapuram mining. YS Jagan brought Sri Lakshmi to AP even she was assigned to Telangana.

The CBI has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against Erra Srilakshmi, a senior IAS officer from Andhra Pradesh. Initially, the Telangana High Court dismissed the charges filed by the CBI against Srilakshmi in the Obulapuram mining case.

However, challenging the Telangana High Court’s decision, the CBI has taken the matter to the Supreme Court. Srilakshmi has faced allegations of favoring the Obulapuram Mining Company through the allocation of mining licenses.

Currently, she holds the position of Special Chief Secretary in the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It’s worth noting that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy has also faced allegations in cases related to illegal assets.

In addition to Jagan Reddy, an IAS officer has been accused of benefiting Penna Cements through illegal means. Jagan Reddy, along with Dharmana Prasada Rao, Penna Pratap Reddy, Sabita Indra Reddy, and Srilakshmi, is facing charges in the Penna Cements case.

The CBI had investigated allegations of illegal mining activities by the Obulapuram Mining Company in the reserve forest area of Anantapur.
