Iconic Saradhi Studios To Make Way For a Mall

The Iconic Saradhi Studios in Ameerpet which is one of the earliest film studios in Hyderabad may lose a part of it to a commercial mall, multiplex and hotel spread over 97,442 square metres built up area. The Studio will only retain its original building with floors for indoor shooting and the outdoor area will make way for the mall.

The Telangana State Environment Impact Assessment Authority recently cleared the proposal made by Sri Saradhi Studios Private Limited. Recently NTR’s Janatha Garage was shot in the outdoor area of the Studio where the makers have erected a Garage set for the movie shoot. Janatha Garage may be the last movie to be shot in the studio’s outdoor area.

The Studio management will start the mall construction very soon and from then, there will be no possibility of sets outside. The upcoming mall and multiplex will be thematic where visitors may have a view of film shoots. The mall construction is likely to cost 250 Crore according to the government value.
