If KCR’s Respect Comes Down an Inch, I will Die

Kalvakuntla Kavita gave a candid interview to V6 channel and spoke about her role in the party, about her losing as an MP in 2019 and the conspiracy of BJP and Congress to stop BRS.

Kalvakuntla Kavita said her going to jail was BJP’s doing. When asked that BRS had to pay the price for getting Kavita out of jail, Kavita said it was not the right platform to discuss what happened. However, she emphasized that she will never look for her comfort over party. She said she would die in that instant if KCR’s respect would come down by an inch.

The anchor then asked about her defeat in 2019 as KCR’s daughter. Kavita said that a book can be written on that particular election. She said 189 nominations were filed against her and 24-25 EVMs were brought to each polling booth. We asked for numbering, but the Election Commission didn’t bother. So the votes were split and I lost. But I must point out that I got more votes when I was defeated, than when I won.

They put a sketch to defeat me and that’s the reason behind my defeat. That’s also the time when conspiracies started against BRS, replied Kavita.

It is not my defeat, BRS’ defeat and definitely not KCR’s defeat, she reiterated. When asked if there was a review following her defeat, Kavita answered by saying KCR would get his surveys done and she used the word shrewd to describe her father’s political brain.

The anchor then asked her had BRS reviewed her defeat properly, they wouldn’t have lost so badly. To this, Kavita said they definitely failed to gauge BJP’s strategy and the Congress-BJP ‘mulakhat’.

The anchor wouldn’t let go and asked Kavita that had there been a review, the situation wouldn’t be so bad for the party. To this, Kavita confessed they did a mistake that put them in the opposition.

However, she pointed out that during their second term, they swept 96% seats in local body elections.

Has the party isolated you asked the anchor. It might appear so from a distance, but that’s not the case internally, she told moving on.

Kavita went on to say her father will, forever, be a hero. She reminded the anchor that her party increased crop produce in Telangana state.

The anchor then pointed out to her that even without Kaleswaram water, 1 and half lakh metric tonnes of produce has come in Telangana. Kavita negated with his views and said that the Congress government is cheating farmers and the future generations of Telangana.

Kavita said that governance must continue irrespective of the party in power.

Finally, the anchor asked why did people come together to defeat KCR with a vengeance. Kavita said that thought was Revanth Reddy’s and surely not that of the people of Telangana.
