The other day, Kalvakuntla Kavitha gave an interview to TV5 Murthy and opened up about the differences with her brother, KTR.
TV5 is perceived to be the media house opposite to BRS, and giving an interview to that channel means Kavitha is going against the party. This is akin to how Sharmila gave an interview to ABN Radhakrishna about the differences with Jagan.
Kavitha minced no words in saying that she is not on talking terms with her brother, KTR.
She also announced that she will not accept anybody’s leadership except for KCR’s.
More than anything, she clearly agreed that the Phone-Tapping had happened and also said it was fortunate that even the phones of people around her were tapped under their father’s watch.
It is clear that Kavitha is defying the party line.
So what happens next? And what is the real motive of Kavitha?
It appears that Kavitha wants to get suspended from the party and gain sympathy.
It is a different story if KCR does that.
What happens if she is suspended?
Kavitha is already operating as an independent entity. She may transform her Telangana Jagruthi into a Political Party. Or she can join the Congress Party.
BJP is not an option because the party has sent her to jail.
The moment Kavitha joins Congress, she will lose her identity as KCR’s daughter and someone who worked in the Agitation.
Kavitha is a good orator and has public appeal. But will that appeal stay if she leaves KCR?
It is very difficult. Many think that Kavitha is trying to blackmail KCR into increasing her prominence in the party. Probably, she will need some concrete promises this time.
Right from the start, KCR is clear about whom he wants as his heir.
That is the reason why Kavitha is never in the Assembly. Either she ran for Parliament or was nominated to the Council.
It makes it clear that KCR does not want her to be a competition for his son.
Even though that sounds gross, KCR prioritized son over daughter, like in many households in the country.
As of now, KCR does not want to bow down to the pressure of Kavitha. We will have to see what happens in the days to come!
