India – one of most dangerous countries for journos!

journalists in indiaIn what can be a potential shame for the World’s largest democracy, India found a place in the top nine countries in the World which pose a threat to journalists. Nine journalists in the country were dead this year.

Out of which five were killed in the course of their work or were knowingly murdered and this made India the most dangerous Asian country for journalists. This was revealed in United Nation’s annual report on the safety of journalists and the issue of impunity.

There are couple of reports from international agencies which support the same. Unlike the previous years, more journalists (about 65%) dead outside of the war zones across the World which is alarming.
