New Scam: IT Raids in Telugu States

Income Tax officials conducted raids across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday in connection with a ₹300 crore dal trade scam. The searches were carried out in 25 locations, including Hyderabad, Guntur, Vijayawada, Kurnool, Visakhapatnam, and Mahbubnagar.

According to officials, several trading companies carried out large money transactions during the previous YSRCP government. The IT department found that massive withdrawals were made around the time of the 2024 elections.

Investigations revealed that some companies received permissions from the civil supplies department but failed to supply lentils. These traders also did not distribute pulses through the public distribution system as required.

Raids were also conducted at Hindustan Traders in Visakhapatnam and the VCare Group in Kurnool. IT teams seized key documents believed to be linked to the ₹300 crore scam.

This case adds to the list of controversies surrounding the civil supplies department, which was under Perni Nani during the YSRCP tenure. Perni Nani and his wife already face allegations related to the sale of ration rice.
