Jagan Bail Case: Surprising Strategies of Jagan and CBI

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has filed a counter in his bail revocation case. The counsel representing Jagan filed a 96 pages counter saying that he never violated the bail terms. The counter is more about the allegations on MP Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju saying the petition has no eligibility for the court to consider it.

“Please do not allow to use courts for personal and political use,” the counter read. Interestingly, the CBI still did not file the counter in the case even though the court gave the final opportunity. It has filed a memo saying that the matter is left to the discretion of the court to decide about the bail.

A political expert speaking on a TV Channel expressed his surprise at the strategies of both parties. “Jagan’s counter should be more about why the bail should not be canceled. But the 96 pages counter is more about allegations on the MP saying that the petition should be discarded by the court. This is a surprise because the court already deemed the petition eligible. When the trial began, it makes no sense to say it should not be taken up,” the expert opined.

“CBI or any investigating agency will always ask for the highest punishment and no bail to an accused. It is almost like a natural principle. But it looks like CBI does not want to be on either side going by its memo. This is a total surprise because CBI’s stance will be neutral even in the trial. That means the complainant Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju may become the key party now and his counsel will argue to cancel the bail,” the expert added.
