Jagan Defers The Inevitable Hoping for Some Divine Intervention

Telangana Government had imposed cuts in the salaries from the Chief Minister to the Pensioners in the state. This is because the Corona Lockdown had a severe impact on the state finances and the Government is not in a position to pay the salaries. The Government is likely to pay the cuts once the conditions stabilize.

If this is the case with a cash-rich Telangana, we can only imagine what is happening in Andhra Pradesh which is already suffering due to deficit budget. The fact that all the elections were over in Telangana eased the stress on KCR in taking the decision but AP CM Jagan does not have that liberty.

So, Jagan seems to be bidding time in doing the inevitable and had taken a decision to pay the salaries of the employees in two installments. Jagan is expecting Some Divine Intervention to change drastically so that the second installment can be paid later on in the month. But things look gloom as the Lockdown is likely to be extended.

In Andhra Pradesh, there is a sudden spike in the cases. Seventeen Cases have surfaced today, taking the total number of cases to Forty in the state.
