Jagan Got So Much Of Head Weight: YSR Loyalist

Konda Surekha and Konda Murali were staunch loyalists of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Surekha was the first to resign in support of Jagan even before he floated his own political party.

Surekha and Murali also took stones in Manukota when they brought Jagan Mohan Reddy to Warangal for Odarpu Yatra. But later on, the Konda couple parted ways with Jagan later on.

Their political careers suffered since the day they supported Jagan and it never got revived.

“We resigned for the sake of YSR. But I regret walking with Jagan. He has got a lot of head-weight,” Konda Surekha said. Murali also recollected how Jagan insulted him and recollected how he told Jagan he would never become a Chief Minister with such an attitude.

Surekha started her career as an MPP and also as an MLA four times as well as a Congress Minister since 1995 mainly because of the blessings of YSR. Her husband got elected as an MLC from the local bodies constituency twice in the past. YSR groomed them to checkmate the then-TDP Senior leader Errabelli Dayakara Rao.

As with the case of most YSR loyalists, they also distanced themselves from Jagan.
