Jagan Government Not To Follow Governor’s Orders?

In what can put YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government in an uncomfortable position, Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan has written to Chief Secretary, Neelam Sawhney to reinstate Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as the State Election Commissioner.

This will be a huge disappointment for the Jagan Government which is adamant not to allow Nimmagadda back to the position. However, Jagan Government is likely to refuse the Governor saying that the issue is in the purview of the Supreme Court.

The Government filed one more petition in Supreme Court against the High Court Verdict even though it the Apex Court refused to issue a Stay on the verdict thrice. The Government is likely to buy the time of the re-appointment until the Supreme Court issues the final verdict.

It is more or less the prestige issue of the Chief Minister to see Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar go. But experts say that it is unlikely to happen going by the proceedings.
