
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took the decision in the review meeting on COVID over the increase in cases. In the meeting, CM has also discussed other amenities and how to tackle shortage of bed and oxygen cylinders at the hospitals.
On April 24, Andhra government imposed night curfew from 10pm to 5am. Apart from the partial lockdown, the night curfew will continue to remain. On the other side, the ruling party has been vehemently attacked by the Opposition for not taking serious measures to curb the virus and not failing to provide enough beds and oxygen cylinders to the COVID patients.
As per the bulletin on May 2, the state government recorded highest COVID cases which stand at 23,920 and reported 83 deaths. Experts opine that to curb the deadly virus, complete lockdown is the only remedy, but as complete lockdown will incur financial loss the government has ordered for partial lockdown. By this, is Jagan government trying to delay the inevitable lockdown?
