Jagan Loses Grip On Pulivendula, TDP Gains

After losing power and being reduced to just 11 seats, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy now faces a deeper setback in Pulivendula. The constituency once loyal to late Rajasekhar Reddy and later Jagan has shifted towards the ruling TDP, marking a stunning political reversal.

Defections from YSRCP continue at a steady pace. Leaders and workers are switching to TDP across levels. What started with senior faces now reaches the grassroots, leaving YSRCP weakened in the very seat that once defined its political identity.

On Monday, several members from Vempally town joined the TDP. Former YSRCP cadre entered the party in the presence of BTech Ravi. He said preparations were underway for local body polls and stalled development works were now moving ahead.

BTech Ravi also said YSRCP workers were joining TDP after witnessing the administration under Chandrababu Naidu. According to him, confidence in the new government has driven this shift, as party workers seek stability and stronger local leadership on the ground.

For Jagan, losing Pulivendula stands as the heaviest political blow. His family dominated the constituency for decades. Now, support has slipped away. Many residents view the change as the end of one family’s long hold over local politics.
