After a big shock in Graduates’ MLC elections, all eyes are on the MLC elections of MLAs quota to which polling will be held today. After four MLAs defected, TDP do not stand a chance but fielded a candidate.

YSR Congress fielded seven candidates for the seven seats.

Two rebel MLAs – Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Anam Ram Narayana Reddy are likely to vote for the TDP candidate.

TDP’s Panchumarthi Anuradha will win if one or two YSR Congress MLAs crossvote. In the wake of the recent defeat, YSR Congress is very much worried.

The Chief Minister deployed Intelligence staff to keep an eye on some MLAs.

Those unlikely to get tickets in 2024, those unhappy with the Government, those inactive in the party, and those who have additional incharges in their constituencies are under the radar.

There are reports that one MLA each from Krishna, Guntur, NTR, Nellore, Tirupati, erstwhile Vishakapatnam, and Prakasam districts are under the radar of the intelligence staff. That means seven MLAs in total. This is in addition to the two MLAs who already rebelled against the party.

It will be a huge setback for the Government if TDP wins this seat.
