Jagan to Delhi for Face-Saving?

The leader of Opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy all of sudden rushed to Delhi. Jagan Mohan Reddy met President of India, Pranab Mukherjee and the leaders of other parties asking their support for Special Status. This comes as a total surprise as Jagan who was silent for about 2 years, suddenly woke up on the issue.

Political Circles are abuzz that there are strong indications of Special Status or Special Package for Andhra Pradesh is coming very soon. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley hinted about it in Parliament itself. Jaitley reportedly mentioned that center is in talks with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu regarding the issue.

Jagan who is banking big on the Special Status issue is startled by this development and can not imagine Chandrababu Naidu getting the credit for that. So, he immediately rushed to Delhi and is trying to bag as much as credit as possible. Interestingly, the same Jagan did not even participate in the bandh called for the issue by his own party.

There are reports that announcement of Special Status or a compensation for that is likely to come before the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament ends. YSR Congress is keen on raking the issue even if Special Package is announced. They are planning to keep the fire burning saying that any Special Package can not compensate for the Special Status.
