Jagan Trying to Spoil the Party of Defected MLAs

YSR Congress had intensified its trials to get the defected MLAs disqualified. The party’s MLA, Vishveswara Reddy approached Hyderabad High Court seeking to direct Speaker, Kodela Siva Prasada Rao to disqualify them. He added the defected MLAs, AP Assembly Speaker, Assembly Secretary as defendants in the petition.

Earlier, Kodela turned down the petitions citing technical reasons. This petition of YSR Congress comes at that time when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is contemplating the expansion of his cabinet. This seems to be a bid to make sure that the defected MLAs do not get a place in the cabinet rejig.

Jagan will be hoping that Naidu postpones the cabinet expansion until the judgment arrives in this case. On the other side, Naidu has not given any indication of the expansion until now. While one section of media says it will happen before Diwali, another section says happen only after the local elections.

There are also the speculations that Naidu may induct one or two of the defected MLAs into his cabinet. Bhuma Nagi Reddy, Jyothula Nehru, and Jaleel Khan are the front runners in this segment according to the rumour mills. We already know how Telangana CM K Chandrasekhara Rao inducted Talasani Srinivas Yadav into his cabinet despite being elected on TDP ticket.
